That Kai Havertz goal in Porto will live long in the memory but Thomas Tuchel will know that to be a success in west London he has to continue winning silverware. They appear to be going the right way about that, currently sat top of the Premier League table and continuing to compete in the Carabao Cup as well.

But until this moment we will try everything to win the game and to have a chance to do that, we have to win the game.”

Massimiliano Allegri is looking to make an impression upon his return to Turin as manager.

First and foremost, we do what we do. When we play football games, we try to win them. This is what we do and this will not change,” he told his pre-match press conference on Monday.

“Ok later in the game, if the scoresheet is a draw, we will maybe not allow Edou Mendy to go into the opponents’ box when we have a late corner because we will not risk our qualification and go all-in.

It is the Champions League, however, that will be at the forefront of Tuchel’s mind with a crunch game with the Old Lady in west London tomorrow night.

The Blues will have to win the game to have a realistic chance of winning their group, currently sat three points behind Juventus, and Tuchel insists they will be playing to win.

The Italian predicts a tough test, however, but is also viewing the game as a must-win. He was also eager to point to the impact of Romelu Lukaku.

“Tomorrow we will play for first place with the team in the lead in the Premier League and that last year won the Champions League, so it will be a very important test for us,” he told his press conference, as reported by the Juve’s official website.
“Lukaku is a point of reference; without him Chelsea play with more speed. His presence changes the way the opposition defends.”

Juventus won the first match 1-0 in Turin, Federico Chiesa scoring the winner, but they have been hit with a number of fitness issues ahead of the rematch.

Club captain Giorgio Chiellini will be out with an abductor injury while creative forces Aaron Ramsey and Federico Bernadeschi will also miss out.

Full-backs Danilo and Mattia De Sciglio are the final names to be absent with injuries, the former recently being ruled out for eight months, as Allegri faces a team selection without five key players.
